Interior blinds manage heat that's already inside the room; external venetians stop most of it before it crosses the glass. On a hard west or bay-facing wall in Somerset West, that difference is dramatic — the aircon isn't fighting a greenhouse anymore, it's topping up a room that's already shaded.

Where it earns its keep here
Ridge and view stands with hard west or north exposure, architect renovations wanting clean sightlines from the street, and any owner who's noticed the aircon can't keep up with a big glass wall by 3pm. Retrofit is possible on suitable elevations, but the cleanest result comes from planning it in at design stage.

The fixing substrate is checked on site before anything is quoted, because in this valley the wind load decides the specification. They are there to help you budget, and they are not a quote.
